Steam: These were the top sellers of the year 2021

Just before the turn of the year, there are also an interesting review of 2021 at Steam. The operators of the platform have released various lists that the current year in different categories illuminate something more accurate. Especially the category Top seller is worth a closer look.

What is meant by the term top seller ?

In this category, those games are listed, which have generated most sales in the past twelve months. Accordingly, it does not count the absolute number of copies sold, but the revenue achieved. For the calculation, the period from 1 January to 15 December 2021 is valid. Accordingly, the second half of the December is missing, which is not a big difference.

The top 100 list is again divided into the categories Bronze, Silver ; Gold and Platinum. The latter represents the top group with those who were able to record most of the sales. In addition to new releases such as the MMO New World or the ego shooter Battlefield 2042 are also some continuous burning r on the list.

These include titles such as the Open World Action Game GTA 5, the Multiplayer Shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and the Mob Data 2. These games have all for several years on the hump, however, provide their developers and publishers continued high revenue.
